Life becomes full and complete only when the heart is
filled with faith in a Supreme Power. Until then, the search to fill the gap will continue.

Experience
with Amma. By Vallath Nandakumar - Excerpted
from Immortal Bliss magazine |
During darshan
in Los Angeles, she whispered in my ear, "my daughter,
my daughter." I was so surprised, but when I suddenly
realized that she was joking, I burst out laughing.
She joined me in my laughter, and said, "Laughter should
always burst out of you just like now." Read

IAM
Meditation technique - born out of Amma's divine inspiration.
What
is the IAM Technique? The
IAM - Integrated Amrita Meditation TechniqueSM (IAM
Technique) is a powerful way to reconnect with our real
center, our inner Self, and thereby experience true
joy and peace in life. By practicing this meditation
every day, we can experience these benefits. Born out
of Amma's Divine inspiration, the IAM technique, when
practiced with dedication, is designed to bring about
integration in our lives-an integration of body, mind,
intellect and heart; an integration of our True Self
with God. For

Seattle satsang
- An inspiring example As
the New Year dawned some of us came up with the idea
of making scarves, afghans and hats for the poor and
homeless. We sent an email to the other members of our
satsang to determine interest. It was a pleasant surprise
to receive about 25 responses within a couple of days.
We decided to use a model developed by a group called
Warm Up America where everyone makes 7 x
9 inch squares and then joins them together into afghans.

Gems
to treasure For our daily life
Question to Amma
by a Japanese reporter: Amma, from your point of
view, what is the most significant thing to keep in
mind in daily life for ordinary people in the world?
Amma: The most important thing we must keep in
mind is, that while doing work in this world, we should
always try to have a discriminative intellect, not just
an intellect. To know what is truth and what is untruth,
what is good and what is bad - with that attitude, we
should try to discharge our duties. In the present world,
we see a lot of conflict, chaos and confusion. Take
a household, for example. There may be five or six members
in the family. One may be a drunkard, one a hot-tempered
person, and another may be an egoistic person. But there
may be one family member who is very discriminative,
who is very loving, and who has a lot of patience and
other good qualities. Now, if you look closely, you
can see that it is this person who maintains the hrmony
of the household, the integration of the family.
In ancient India, there existed the joint family system.
There may have been a similar system in Japan, where
twenty or thirty family members lived in the same house.
They had great love, compassion, and understanding.
This is because good qualities of the heart existed
in those days. But now, even if there are only three
members in the family, all three members are isolated.
They have no connection at all. They are like three
islands in an ocean. That is the situation today. What
is most important in such a world is the discriminative
intellect, and a heart endowed with love, compassion
and truthfulness. You can work and earn money, but remember
mere accumulation of posession without discrimination
is like keeping a comb for a bald head!

Humanitarian
Activities
This
section highlights one of Amma's innumerable Humanitarian
activities. Circle
of Love
Amma's Circle of Love program is yet another one of
her practical examples of this universal compassion.
Its whole purpose is to provide a network of compassionate
service between those devotees who are in need of assistance
and those who would like to help them. By selflessly
extending ourselves to those brothers and sisters in
need of a little loving support, we become more expansive,
and grow a little more towards that universal compassion
that our beloved Amma radiates so fully. To us it may
mean only a little of our time and effort; to someone
else it could mean the world. To read more
