This
section highlights one of Amma's innumerable Humanitarian
activities.
Green
Friends
Amma says,
"God is in everything, not just human beings.
God is in the mountains, the rivers and the trees,
in the birds and the animals, in the clouds, the sun,
the moon and the stars. Everything in nature has a
purpose to fulfill. There are no mistakes in God’s
Creation."
"Every creature
and every object that has been created by God is utterly
special. How can anyone who understands this want
to kill and destroy?"
"We are all born
from the same source – the womb of nature is
our universal heritage. In today’s world there
is an urgent need to stop environmental pollution
and abuse of Nature’s resources. To make this
possible, a very deep change in individual attitude
is essential."
With the ‘Green
Friends’ program, Amma’s concern is to
create this shift in people’s consciousness.
When we love all of creation as God’s gift,
feelings of respect, care and a duty to protect Nature
automatically follow. This is the spiritual inspiration
and vision behind Green Friends.
