Amrita
Institute of Technology and Science (AITEC) offers seven
branches of study. AITEC is a harmonious blend of Indian spiritual
ethics and advancement in technology. The culture and teachings
of the Sanatana (Eternal) Dharma, along with modern technology,
offer an ideal symbiosis of science and spirituality.
With the inauguration of Amrita Institute of Technology and Science
(AITEC), Amritapuri, which was hitherto the international head quarters
of AMMA's (Mata Amritanandamayi Devi) worldwide charitable, service
and spiritual activities, has become a center for higher education.
All the higher educational institutions run by the Mata Amritanandamayi
Math aim at imparting value-based high quality technical education.
The highlight of AITEC, Amritapuri is its strong emphasis on research.
A campus-wide Intranet, Digital Library, On-line Training Modules,
On-line discussion forum are some of the facilities already available.
The research wing of AITEC, Amritapuri, the Amrita Innovative Technology
Foundation Laboratories is already engaged in R&D projects in
advanced computing areas like Cryptography, Cluster Computing, Information
Security etc.
AITEC, Amritapuri, the third engineering college managed by Mata
Amritanandamayi Math was dedicated to humanity by Padma Vibhushan
Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government
of India, in the presence of Sampujya Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri,
Vice Chairman, Mata Amritanandamayi Math on Monday, 23rd September
in a colorful ceremony held at the college campus.
Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, in his benedictory address highlighted
the necessity of healthy and intelligent competition and contemplation,
which must go hand in hand for society to grow. He said, "Amma
considers everyone as her own. Amma never rejects anyone or anything.
She is our role model".
The principles expounded in the establishment of Amrita Institutions
are succinctly represented in the motto of the ashram. "Thyagenaike
Amritatwamanashuhu" (Through sacrifice alone is immortality
attained), and that of the Institute, "Shraddhavan Labhate
Jnanam" (Knowledge is gained through devout application).
