Power of the pen

I am Mary Ann Duckworth. I have been coordinating Circle of Love Letters since May 2007.

Currently there are 54 letter writers and 57 recipients generating approximately 134 letters monthly for Circle of Love Letters. People participating are mostly from the US but we have recipients and writers from India, Brazil, Malaysia and Italy too.

It is important to note that here are two programs with the name Circle of Love. "Circle of Love Inside" writes to people who are in prison. circle.of.love.inside@gmail.com

The other program "Circle of Love Letters" writes uplifting letters to people in the community that are ill, grieving or facing a difficult life challenge. For information on the community program contact circleofloveletters@hotmail.com

" I cannot express in words how much the letters from Circle of Love have meant to me!!! Each and every letter has been a great gift of love and joy! I found a special box just to keep all of the letters together so that I can continue to enjoy them. I placed one card that has a picture of Amma on the front beside my bed so that I can see it at all times. I have read, collected, and literally held these letters; receiving the love, warmth, support and joy over and over again. I have even taken cards to doctor appointments so I wouldn't feel alone in the waiting room."

This is a quote from a Circle of love Letters letter writer about her volunteer work:

"My spiritual practice has been key to maintaining my inner balance and strength. Writing letters through Circle of Love Letters is a way to gain clarity, perspective,and to forget about my problems for a while, sharing hope & Divine Love. It is healing for me too. Thank you for the opportunity."
